The Family Blix Foundation for the furtherance of medical research – prize for young medical researchers. Application deadline:

The Family Blix Foundation for the furtherance of medical research was established on December 1, 1983. The Foundation’s objective is to support medical research, particularly within the fields of cardiovascular diseases and cancer, including medical diagnostics within these fields. Since the establishment of the Foundation, a total of NOK 21 millions have been distributed within the mentioned fields.

On the occasion of the Foundation’s 25th anniversary the Board has decided to distribute two prizes, each on the amount of NOK 250 000, to young medical researchers in Norway. The distribution will be done in cooperation with The Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo. The prizes will be distributed to persons having exercised outstanding/promising research work respectively within the fields of cardiovascular diseases and cancer. The person concerned must not have reached the age of 45 per December 1, 2008. The condition is that the prizes shall be used for research work.

The Family Blix Foundation, in cooperation with The Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo, invite to open nomination, either that the candidate himself/herself sends in an application or upon suggestion from others. Applications or suggestions shall be sent to the Board, attention chairman of the board lawyer Erik Keiserud, P.O.Box 471 Sentrum, 0105 Oslo, by October 15, 2008. The applications/suggestions shall be in three copies. The following requirements must be fulfilled if the applications/suggestions shall be considered: 1) a detailed argumentation, 2) a list of the candidate’s scientific production and 3) a curriculum vitae.

The prizes will be distributed Monday December 1, 2008, at 11.00 hrs in “Gamle festsal”, University of Oslo (centre).
