Workshop: Novel approaches to study complex signalling in cardiac myocytes

Center for Heart Failure Research invites clinicians and basic researchers with an interest in cardiac signalling to participate at our workshop: “Novel approaches to study complex signalling in cardiac myocytes”.

The invited lecture will be given by professor Julia Gorelik from Imperial College London. Her research area is in the interface between biophysics and cardiovascular research. She is especially known for developing the scanning ion conductance microscopy (SICM) technology to measure contraction, rhythm and calcium dynamics of cardiomyocytes simultaneously and later also combined the SICM with fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) technique to study spatial distribution of receptors on the surface of the cardiomyocytes.

Several ongoing projects will be presented by PhD students and postdocs and all projects discussed in plenum.

Where: RIKSHOSPITALET A: SEMINARROM A3.3067
When: October 10th 2018
Registration deadline: October 3rd 2018
Invited speaker: Professor Julia Gorelik, Cardiovascular Science Division at the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College London

Focus area leader: Lise Román Moltzau, Department of Pharmacology, Institute of Clinical Medicine, University of Oslo and Oslo University Hospital

This annual Workshop is the main meeting place for Center for Heart Failure Research’s
focus area Cardiac signalling.

The Focus Areas are dedicated to specific topics of interest to several groups in the Center for Heart Failure Research. The aim of each focus area is to facilitate exchange of ideas, common projects and collaboration with international partners.

Registration
Registrations are only accepted until October 3 2018.
